From the ashes it will rise...
Yup... this site has been deader than the dodo for months now, but we will rise again.
Something needs to happen here... and soon, because Gamer-Tagged is on life support at the moment to say the very least. If you're interested in joining in with regular gaming sessions on LIVE and more with a more friendly group of people, or if you have any ideas on what you'd like to see here (content wise or anything else), join the site and send me a PM! Stay tuned for some more updates.
Still no real idea on when it's being released in the UK, but here's a video review of the game courtesy of IGN, for the lucky US peeps who can buy it now, and to tease the rest pf us poor folks who are still eagerly awaiting it.
Everything sounds very promising, the only niggle I have with it really is that the guitar parts might be a bit boring in single player as they are easier than Guitar Hero. Still can't wait for it though!
If you don't like the idea of handing over MS Points for themes for your dashboard, how about using some of our specially formatted dashboard wallpapers? Shiny has been good enough to make some wallpapers, which I have added to the Image Gallery. Instructions on using them are within the gallery!
Check them out - more are on the way soon, I think I might try my hand at making a few! Many thanks to Shiny for making these ones!
Just a quick post - thought I'd share this video of Rock Band I came across. Many of us have probably been playing Guitar Hero III non-stop, but as great as GHIII is, Rock Band could well turn out to be the ultimate music game... get some friends round and a few beers and it should be endless, hilarious fun! :)
I really can't wait... the only downside is that us UK peeps are still waiting for a release date and price for the game. I have a feeling the full bundle will end up being expensive but we'll have to wait and see I guess. Here's hoping it won't be too much!
Our new sister site/blog, Halol3.com is open for business! The site is basically a blog, similar to the I can has cheezburger style sites (where funny pictures on a certain subject are posted). We'll be updating on a very regular basis with funny Halo related pictures, either direct from the game or fun photoshops. We need your help though! If you have any funny pictures that you have taken in Halo 3 that you want to share with the world, then you can submit your own via the blog... so what are you waiting for??!!! Check out the site and start submitting your pics to the 'Laughter Chief'!!!
We also have a userbar that we would appreciate if you used in your signatures on other forums to advertise the site; you have our permission to link directly to the image if need be!
I would imagine that by now, anyone interested in PES 2008 would have downloaded and played the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace, so we all have a rough idea of how it plays and how it looks. I thought that I would post this video however, as it shows a full half of action, with commentary. As the demo didn't have any, I figured people might want to hear how well Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson fare. Better than Brackley and Brooking? You decide:
Although I'm not a fan of Lawro as a commentator, he only does the summarising part, and I do think he's better than Brooking. As for Champion, he is head and shoulders above Peter Brackley, I just think the only thing that will let him down is the script he is reading from... which I don't think is all that great. At least it is an improvement though, although that was never going to be all that hard! ;)
Bungie have posted an update on the official site to state that the changes to Matchmaking in Halo 3 listed below are now live. Hopefully they will address a few issues that some players have had and that they will continue to update like this in the future to further refine the gameplay. I wonder how long it will be before we see map packs etc? I'm still hearing people complain a lot about not being able to search for a custom game type that they want. I can understand that, but I can also understand Bungie's explanation. It is a pain though if you just want to play one specific game type.
Anyway, here's that list of changes:
Halo 3's Matchmaking Playlists, just like Halo 2's, are dynamic and ever-changing entities. Even now in the perilous Bungie towers, we're looking at new hoppers, gametypes and modes to test for future iterations and changes of these playlists. Multiplayer Lead Tyson Green and test wunderkind David Gasca sent the following list of changes to us -- and these changes are live now:
* Big Team Battle matches are now 16-player affairs.
* In the Team Slayer playlist, the appearance of Shotty Snipers has been greatly reduced.
* Now, when players veto Shotty Snipers, the game that results from the veto will not be Shotty Snipers.
* In one-sided VIP matches, the attacking team will now see a waypoint for the VIP they are hunting.
* In Lone Wolves, Slayer gametypes will appear more frequently.
It may already be out in stores, but a demo for Project Gotham Racing 4 is out on Xbox Live Marketplace! Even if you already have the full game, it might be worth checking out as there are a couple of exclusive challenges in Macau featured within. If you don't have it, then what are you waiting for?
Had so much trouble tonight with Live, this demo took a long time to download! It was worth the wait however, I'll pick up the full game sooner or later.
After the fun we had with the previous Halo session (happened last Sunday), we'll be holding another one soon. We will be having a proper tournament soon provided enough players join up to it, but to set the stage we'll be having a couple of practice sessions over the next week or so. The first will be on Sunday (7th October) at 7PM UK time, and we will do a couple on weekday evenings next week. It will give everyone a chance to brush up their skills further and have a chance to get some practice in against the opposition. I'll host the first game so make sure I am on your friends list so I can invite you (gamertag: Kazuya UK).
If you want to attend, please register using the calendar function! Further discussion of this topic can be found on the forum here! -->
We are gradually getting some more content onto the site that will be interesting for our members. Over the past few days I have added the following things to the site:
Halo 3 Skull Locations Guide:
For all of you that are looking for the hidden skulls in Halo 3, this guide should help you out. I have listed the stages that they are on, given a brief description of what the skull does, and also provided a video that will help you to find it. I can't take credit for these great videos, but having them all compiled in one place like this will assist you in finding them in no time at all!
Our resident moderator and graphics wizard Shiny has been making some great mobile phone themes for Sony Ericsson phones. There are a few already online in the downloads section, so if you have a Sony Ericsson phone then check them out! They are confirmed to work on the K750i and W800i, but should also work on D750/W550/W600 and possibly others too. If you get them to work successfully on your phone, please let us know!
We may look at themes for other phones in the future - if you have tried your hand at making themes for phones you can also submit them to the site if you wish. Give us a shout via private message on the site!
In addition to the Halo 3 review that was written by KopRedMan and the Fatal Fury Special XBLA review I wrote, Link-San submitted a review of Pro Evolution 6. Obviously the game has been out for some time now and the next in the series is out later in the month, but it is definitely worth a read if for some reason you haven't got the game yet - it can be bought for a very cheap price now if you look around, and until PES 2008 comes out, it's still the best football/soccer game available... forget FIFA! ;)
Some new images have been added to the Image Gallery. First off I have added a slew of desktop wallpapers (mostly official ones). I'll add some more soon, if anyone wants to contribute with their own fan-made ones, you can submit them via the "Submit Photo" link to your left!
Because Halo 3 has a great screenshot function, we have begun to display some fun images taken in game. So far there's a handful of images from the multiplayer session we held on Sunday - you can also post images in the photo gallery thread we have on the forum.
We'll pencil in another Halo 3 game soon - keep an eye on the site/calendar for more information!
Other Random Stuff:
I finally fixed a little profile add-on that I installed recently, so now it works properly. If you log in and edit your profile, you'll see an extra option that asks for your gamertag; if you enter it, your gamercard will automatically show up in your profile. I am currently hoping to add a few more features like this, so that people can show off their scores and achievements on the site.
I posted my first review on this site a few weeks back (Fatal Fury Special for XBLA), and now one of our members, KopsRedMan, has submitted a review of Halo 3. If (for some reason) you don't have the game yet or haven't decided whether to buy it, check his review to find out his opinion on the game!
We are looking for more reviews, so if you feel like doing a bit of writing please let us know! I have another review to upload soon from one of our other members, and will also be writing another myself soon, which will be for the XFPS 360 Pro, a peripheral that lets you use Playstation 2 controllers on your Xbox 360, as well as PS/2 mice and keyboards. Will be interesting to see how well it works!
